Kind of disappointed in the purchase. Memphis D. This book is one I will reread over and over and am using for a men's book discussion group. Packer is brilliant, very efficient with words and uses numerous book and scriptural references. I've read more bible than Packer going through this book. One flag: I think making hyperlinks to all the references overwhelmed the Logos employees as I have reported several errors.
Though it can be bothersome, I encourage every reader of the Logos version to join with the Logos staff in the noble endeavor of helping those that read after us by reporting the hyperlink errors.
This book is worth the effort. This is truly Packer's magnum opus.. He is a frequent contributor to and an executive editor of and has written numerous articles published in journals such as and He received a BA, MA and PhD from Oxford University.
A fine read for any devoted Christian. Packer's Knowing God. With some of the language and rhetoric updated, the foundational elements of the book are as powerful and strong as ever. He convinced us that the study of God 'is the most practical project anyone can engage in.
Every national and world leader must seek to know the nations and world in which they serve. And in order to know this world and its people, we must first know the God who shaped and molded us all.
Packer simply and powerfully re-introduces us to God: his attributes, actions, and, most important, his grace.
